My Comments...

"If possible, I always like to incorporate the interests of the subject into each portrait. In this case, both are very passionate about each other and running. They train hard daily for cross country and track, and both have been successful in the sport. It has been a very big part of their lives. I decided that wearing uniforms would not really work best for a couples photograph, so I asked them to wear jeans and their high school letter jackets. It seemed fitting to use the high school track as a background for the portrait. However tracks are not the most attractive locations in the world, so we went late in the day when it was starting to get dark in order to better control the background lighting. I created this image where the lanes of the track were running off into the distance, and the scoreboard was muted in the background."
