"It is very important for me to get to know the kids prior to the portrait session. I want the kids to be comfortable and enjoy playing with me. That's really what we are doing. And as the mom said, what boy does not like to climb a ladder. To light the scene, I turned the ladder at an angle to the primary light and had him look back toward the light. His expression is priceless."
