My Comments...

"My goal is not to merely photograph a client in front of a simple background. I want to learn about the families that I photograph so that I can personalize each portrait when possible.  I created this portrait of my son Matthew when he was younger - he is now a senior in high school.  I wanted to capture his interest in camping. He had received a backpack and sleeping bag for Christmas and was very excited. My goal was to create a low light rustic cabin feel for the portrait. Along with the backpack, I added some vintage snow shoes, cross country ski's, topographical map, lantern, an old wood burning stove and a low lighting effect. As with most kids, Matthew's interests have changed through the years, but these portraits allow Teresa and I to remember so much more about those younger days."
